Okay. They were stuck. Stay calm, Aster. Stay calm. stay calm don’t cause trouble beetle-man said don’t cause trouble but they were trapped TRAPPED TRAPPED violent wingbeats only scraped their limbs against the walls of the too-small room their instinct was to tear, to rip away, to carve a path through whatever was blocking them and get out into the lightfreespaceskyair but the song echoed, unceasing never ending They hoped that someone could hear their cries.
Though the woman had left and one of the others had called out something about code, Aster decided to remain and poke around a bit more. Horns seemed to have taken charge, whether he had wanted to or not, and that’s what he had told them to do. Besides, a thorough scouring couldn’t hurt— some of the stuff in here looked pretty interesting. [Aster is looking around for anything beetle-related, anything that could be used as a weapon, and/or anything that pings as “weird” to them.]
Aster was highly relieved that their companion was alright— wherever they were. “Do you need any help in there? I’m not exactly sure how I can assist you, but I’ll work something out.” Despite their urge to be the alien of the hour, it was probably smarter to act as support for this particular problem. Most of their “solutions” involved excessive arcane power, anyways.
Aster was about to follow Horns’ advice and take a look at one of the other mirrors, when they were caught by surprise by one of the other party members- a woman with a mask made out of what seemed to be feathers, or perhaps scales- tumbling through a mirror, accompanied by a... was that a cat?? These really weren’t just mirrors, huh. “Are you alright?” Wasn’t the whole point of a quest to look out for your party members? They didn’t want to lose one of their own, especially if she could be helpful down the line. They wondered if some of the other mirrors could be traversed as well, but decided not to explore that question for now. Even though they had never followed the adage of “better safe than sorry”, Aster had to admit that it was probably the most intelligent move in this situation.
